State of Bass spring special

Spring Round Up

Times have been scarily busy round State of Bass Towers… here’s a quick catch up.

Pulse Lab‘s awesome debut album of synthpop-noire classics has been gaining rave reviews for press and radio alike. It’s still available on Ltd Ed CD here: https://pulselab.bandcamp.com/album/lab-notes

Mothloop‘s second single ‘Electricity’ has enjoyed a limited stealth release that was only serviced to a small handfull of DJs. Response to it has been amazing with the song enjoying regular support. Huge thanks to those DJs. You can hear it alongside the debut single ‘Information Dislocation’ on the usual streaming services now. The third Mothloop single ‘We Built This Machine’ will be released in May… it’s a much darker affair!

Martin James has been a bit of a media whore of late popping up on Colin Spencer‘s always indispensable show talking about the genius that was The Associates (https://www.mixcloud.com/ColinSpencer/colin-spencer-043-6-8pm-sat-25mar23-colinscuts-martin-james-talks-the-associates-_theassociates_/) and more recently on the Kinetic 7 Podcast with the wonderful Cas (https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-fajvy-13ebdc6) where Martin can be heard talking about umm, his washing, his music, his writing and other stuff!

We released an exlusive edition of Generation Blitz for subscribers to Blitzed magazine (https://blitzedmag.com). Called Generation Blitz – The Winter Collection it included previously unreleased tracks, mixes and edits from the label family as well as a few upfront tracks from friends of State of Bass. We’ve kept a few copies back to send as gifts to anyone buying our merch during May.

In the future

Contaminated Disco, the debut album from Mothloop will be out in July, preceded by the singles ‘Relentless’ and ‘We Fight Together’ with very special remixes by some super talented friends.

We’ll soon start compilating the next instalment of Generation Blitz for release early 2023 but first we’re working hard on the Velvet Rope VIP club which will give subscribers a 7″ vinyl single every two months, digital editions of all of our releases and a regular magazine. Keep a watch out for that!

Almost finally, we have a new addition to the SOB family, whose album will be a show case of collaborations with a wealth of amazing artists. All will be revealed

AND finally, finally, Nostalgia Deathstar duo Martin James and Sean Albiez are back at the coalface of the production controls working on a shedload of new material. We’d love to tell you about it but it’s still early days.

Phew, that’s yer lot… for now
